Basketball thoughts


Nine days ago, Brad Brownell thought his team would be energetic and inspired in a game at Virginia Tech. The Tigers came out and looked dead in a boisterous environment over the first 10 minutes and had to overcome a big deficit before losing a close one in the end.

I'm hesitant to criticize fans for a few reasons:

Brad Brownell didn't seem down in the dumps yesterday when he met with the media. He was in good spirits despite two very disappointing losses in Virginia last week, and I like the fact that he didn't have a hangdog look when such a demeanor would be completely excusable.

Dabo Swinney said yesterday that National Signing Day is "like Christmas for an adult," and he nailed it because there's little else that captivates grown men like the acquisition of young men who can run really fast.
